Dunn leads Baylor over Texas; Bears clinch No. 3 seed

Quincy Acy finished with 24 points on 12-of-15 shooting for the Bears (24-6, 11-5 Big 12), who clinched the No. 3 seed and a first round bye in the upcoming conference tournament. Tweety Carter recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.

Gary Johnson had 25 points and eight boards to pace the once top-ranked Longhorns (23-8, 9-7), whose 17-0 start to the season seems like a distant memory.

Texas took a 27-24 lead on pair of Damion Jones free throws with about 8 1/2 minutes to go in the first half. Acy hit a jumper and Carter made a layup to give Baylor the lead.

The game would be tied again at 30 moments later, but the Bears owned a 42-34 halftime lead before Dunn nailed a three-pointer on the first possession coming out of the break to stretch the advantage to double digits.

Texas closed the gap to 51-44 near the six-minute mark of the second half, but a Carter three pushed the lead to 64-50 just past the midway point. The Bears led by no fewer than nine the rest of the way.

James and Jordan Hamilton each scored 18 points for Texas...Ekpe Udoh had eight points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals for Baylor...The Bears outscored Texas 57-32 in the paint.
